Sections of India media retract claims about Dawood Ibrahim

They claimed Ibrahim was hospitalised in Karachi after being poisoned

Indian media have claimed that Dawood Ibrahim, one of India’s most wanted men, was under treatment at a Karachi hospital after someone allegedly poisoned him. But none of them came up with official confirmation and some withdrew it from their websites.

Some claimed that he died. It merits here to mention that similar news was published by many Indian news channels on Sunday, however, they later removed them from their websites.

Times of India while citing sources claimed that that Dawood has been kept under tight security at the hospital.

But ABP Live and WION claimed that he has died after being poisoned.

India accuses Ibrahim as a fugitive who was mastermind of the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

He reportedly died in a hospital in Pakistan’s Karachi on Sunday, highly placed sources told ABP LIVE. They said Dawood was rushed to hospital after it was detected that he had been poisoned. It is likely, the sources said, that Dawood passed away between 8 pm and 9 PM (IST) in the hospital,“ the news outlet said.

Dawood Ibrahim was among top trends on social media after India media reports.

In 2015, a senior lawyer of India claimed that Ibrahim offered to surrender himself and his close associate Chota Shakeel before Indian authorities.

He had said that in an interview with the ANI news agency.

While speaking about his meeting, Ram Jethmalani said that the “underworld don” had denied involvement in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.
