Dacoits’ gang looting Sikh pilgrims, Japanese arrested: police
Police have claimed to have arrested a dacoits’ gang which has been looting Sikh pilgrims and Japanese nationals in Lahore.
“Arrested suspects include gang’s leader Badshah, Saif Ali Khan, Karamat Ali, and Muhammad Shehzad,” Crime Investigation Agency SP Bilal Furqan said at a press conference in Punjab’s provincial capital on Thursday.
Last month, a gang of robbers looted a Sikh family from India in Gulberg. The family arrived here to take part in the celebrations of the Baba Guru Nanak Dev’s birth anniversary.
The family was shopping in Gulberg area when the suspects disguised themselves as police personnel intercepted them in the name of security clearance and took away Rs400,000 cash and jewelry belonging to the foreigners.
On Thursday, the agency claimed to have recovered dozens of mobile phones and hundreds of rupees cash from the suspects.
According to Furqan, during investigation it was revealed that suspects were involved in dozens of robberies and confessed to looting the foreign nationals in Pakistan at gunpoint.
A 13-year-old child, Alishan, from Jhang while a 14-year-old child, Muhammad Ibrahim, from Baghbanpura who were abducted a few days ago have also been recovered, the CIA CP told reporters.
