Naseem Shah starts partial bowling practice
Pace bowler Naseem Shah has started doing light gym exercises and partial bowling practice as he began the final stage of his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement.
“The young pacer was injured during the Asia Cup in September, after which he underwent surgery in the United Kingdom. Following the surgery, he remained in the UK for two months for rehabilitation and initial training as the PCB covered his medical costs and he received continuous care from a team of expert medical staff,” it added.
Shah’s rehabilitation is being continued at the NCA under the care of a strength and conditioning coach, a physiotherapist, and a doctor.
Soon after starting partial bowling practice, he will start batting tomorrow (Thursday).
Shah had undergone shoulder surgery in October in England after which he was reported to have rest for four to six weeks, sources said.
Along with missing out on representing Pakistan in the World Cup in India, he also missed Pakistan’s tour to Australia.
