PTI leader Asad Qaiser sent on judicial remand in KP
A judicial magistrate court in Mardan on Sunday rejected the police request for physical remand of former National Assembly speaker Asad Qaiser.
The court ordered to send Qaiser to jail on judicial remand.
A day earlier, a session court in Mardan approved the bail of the PTI leader and issued his release order in a case related to the May 9 riots.
However, he was arrested soon in a new case registered in Mardan after his release.
On November 23, Qaiser was re-arrested after the Abbottabad bench of the Peshawar High Court approved his bail in a graft case.
Eyewitnesses told Aaj News that the former National Assembly speaker was arrested from outside the Swabi jail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to police, he was taken to Charsadda in a case related to damaging state properties on May 9 when violent protests broke out after PTI Chief Imran Khan’s first arrest in graft case.
Qaiser’s first arrest came on November 3 by Islamabad police from his house in Islamabad. He was kept in custody for 11 days.
He has since been arrested four times in different cases by the authorities.
