National Highways and Motorway Police busted a vehicle smuggling weapons on the M-5 motorway near Rahim Yar Khan on on Thursday.

According to a spokesman, NHMP caught up with a suspicious vehicle and recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition.

The weapons included 14 sub-machine guns, 11 pistols and 7,000 rounds of ammunition.

The vehicle’s driver was arrested while trying to escape. NHMP has shifted the man to Police station Muhammad Pur in Rahim Yar Khan.
