Woman, three children found dead in Karachi

Police say drug addict father of the children is prime suspect

A woman and her three children were found dead in their house in the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi early on Thursday.

Rescue teams moved the bodies to a hospital as police initiated a probe into the deaths.

According to the initial reports, the incident occurred in Sher Muhammad Goth of the Gulistani-e-Jauhar area in Karachi, where four dead bodies in a house.

The exact motive behind the death is not clear immediately, though police sources said the victims were killed by a sharp weapon and their throats were slit. Things will become clearer after the medical examination of the victims, said the sources.

The dead were identified as 35 years of Saima, 9 years of Ashhad, 7 years of Shahzain, and 2 years of Ammara.

The head of the family was not in the house when the police arrived at the scene.

A relative said the children’s father was out of the house and when he returned at around 2:00am he found the bodies of his wife and children.

Father prime suspect

Police sources said the father of the dead children was allegedly involved in the murders.

He is said to be a drug addict.

The police have registered an FIR on the complaint of the prime suspect’s father and the father-in-law of Saima and detained the man.

The father-in-law told the police that the accused was a drug addict.

The police say that the prime suspect kept changing statements after being detained. He has been using crystal meth for five years, they said.

However, no murder weapon was recovered from the house.
