Billionaire Elon Musk has responded to the invitations to visit Gaza, saying it was dangerous to visit the besieged strip which had been the target of Israeli bombardment for more than a month.

“Seems a bit dangerous there right now, but I do believe that a long-term prosperous Gaza is good for all sides,” he said while replying to a post in which Hamas invited him to visit Gaza.

A day earlier, a Hamas senior official invited Musk to visit the Palestinian Gaza strip to see the extent of destruction caused by the Israeli bombardment, Reuters reported.

“We invite him to visit Gaza to see the extent of the massacres and destruction committed against the people of Gaza, in compliance with the standards of objectivity and credibility,” Hamas’ senior official Osama Hamdan said in a press conference in Beirut.

The owner of X met Israeli President Isaac Herzog on November 27 along with Israelis whose relatives have been held by Hamas in Gaza.

During the meeting, he was gifted a symbolic dog tag by the father of a hostage in Gaza, with “our hearts are hostage in Gaza” engraved in it.

President Herzog told Musk that the latter had a “huge role to play” to combat antisemitism, news agency AFP reported.

The billionaire has been accused of amplifying anti-Jewish hatred on X since he took over in October last year.

It is pertinent to mention that Israel has also agreed with Musk that SpaceX will provide Starlink satellite internet services in Gaza only with its approval.
