Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar on Tuesday left for Kuwait City from Abu Dhabi’s Al-Bateen Airport on an official visit to the country, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei and Pakistani diplomatic staff have seen off PM Kakar at the airport.

A day earlier, Pakistan and the UAE signed memorandums of understanding in different sectors worth multi-billion dollars, PM Kakar said in a video message.

The PM Office said that the interim PM will meet the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah during his visit to Kuwait.

The two countries will sign memorandums of understanding for mutual cooperation in various sectors including manpower, information technology, minerals and mining, food security, energy and defence, it added.

The caretaker federal cabinet on November 24 approved seven MoUs with Kuwait that would result in $10 billion worth of investment from the Gulf country in Pakistan.

The nod was given during a cabinet meeting presided over by caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar in Islamabad on November 24. The agreements would be signed during the prime minister’s visit to Kuwait.
