PCB reviews decision: Backlash prompts withdrawal of fine on Azam Khan

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lifted the fine imposed on Azam Khan after reviewing the decision.

Azam Khan was fined 50 per cent of the match fee for breaching the PCB’s code of conduct during the match against Lahore Blues in the National T20 Cup.

Azam pasted the Palestinian flag on his bat to show his solidarity with Gaza amid of war.

Talking to the Geo News, PCB had explained Azam Khan was fined for using an unapproved logo. Azam Khan was also forbidden by the match referee to put a sticker of the Palestinian flag on the bat but he refused to remove it and in response added that he had the same sticker on his all bats.

PCB’s action has been trolled by the netizens which apparently forced them to take their decision back and in a fresh development PCB withdrew the fine on Azam Khan.

Not only does Azam support Palestine, but Mohammad Rizwan also took to social media during the ICC World Cup 2023, dedicating his century against Sri Lanka to the people of Gaza.
