Merub Ali recently visited the renowned and magnificent Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib and fans are asking if she has changed her religion.

Merub has posted several snaps on her Instagram in a black outfit, her shoulders and head covered with pink and orange dupatta.

She found herself being questioned about her choice to browse the site, even though the photographs were harmless. Many reacted strongly to her remarks, wanting to know why the celebrity had entered.

An Instagram user said, “You haven’t turned Sikh, have you? You visit the houses of worship of non-Muslims, but you do not visit mosques.” Merub, however, did not take the remark lightly and responded appropriately. “News flash,” she started.

“A Gurdwara is open to all! You ought to accompany me. There, the locals were quite friendly. Perhaps you can pick up a few tips.” Alongside, the star included the white heart emoji.

Located in the town of Kartarpur, Pakistan, just 4km (2.5 miles) from the border with India, the gurdwara, where Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, spent his last years.

Almost four decades later, in 2019, Pakistan opened the Kartarpur corridor, a border crossing with visa-free access to Indian pilgrims wanting to visit the gurdwara, where Guru Nanak, died in 1539.
