Govt announces opening of Hajj 2024 applications from today

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has announced that registration for Hajj 2024 under the government scheme has begun today (Monday) and will continue till December 12.

Applications for the next year’s Hajj under the government scheme are being received by the designated banks.

The applications can be submitted on a passport valid till December 16, 2024. Hajj application can also be processed on passport application token, the national broadcaster reported.

Around 89,605 Pakistanis will perform Hajj under the government scheme, according to Radio Pakistan.

Balloting will be conducted if more than the prescribed number of applications are received.

For the first time, women will have the opportunity to undertake the pilgrimage journey without the traditional requirement of a male companion.

Under the sponsorship scheme, 25,000 seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
