Very few would have ever thought to have been served with a banana on a plate and having a spoon and fork to eat it. Many people just take it from kitchen and peel off the skin to eat the fruit. But this is not a case for a royal queen.

Let’s read it again with a different approach. Even if people are born with a silver spoon, they have to follow a discipline to continue the legacy. And, a royal queen has to act with the utmost decorum in their daily life even when they want to eat a banana.

British etiquette coach William Hanson is one of those experts who teach people how royal family members greet, dine, speak, and wear kinds of clothes.

One of his old videos has resurfaced on social media where he explains how a queen would eat a banana.

“How a queen would eat a banana. We don’t peel it like a primate. Instead of using the fork, we hold it in place and cut off one end, then we cut off the other end and then we turn the knife on its side and go into the skin like so and then prizing it and then cut a little bit off and eat it so,” he said in less than 30-second video.

Hanson is the director of The English Manner, a UK etiquette training institute, where he advises individuals, organisations, and films on correct form and good manners, according to his website.

He is the author of four books, including Help I Sexted My Boss, The Bluffer’s Guides to Etiquette, and Entertaining, and Protocol To Manage Relationships Today.

According to the British School of Excellence, anyone sitting with the queen was supposed to stop eating when the queen did. The rule implies that the person is paying due respect to the monarch – and even the husband prince must follow the protocol.

Moreover, the person is not supposed to leave an event before any royalty without express permission.
