Following weeks of extended rain during last month’s flash floods, the mountains in and surrounding the holy city of Makkah have turned green.

A post on X indicates that greenery covers the mountains, presenting a different scenario of nature in Makkah.

The landscapes have begun to turn green in some parts of the western side of the country.

NASA satellite photos show the expansion of vegetation, which is a result of both the rain and the warm temperatures.

Numerous users were caught off guard as images and videos of the extraordinary phenomena began to circulate on social media.

Some have connected a saying attributed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that reads, “The Last Hour will not come till the land of Arabia reverts to meadows and rivers” to the unexpected vegetation in Makkah.

An X user, however, issued a warning against drawing hasty conclusions, pointing out that the phenomenon is transient and has occurred previously.

The nation experienced a deluge of rain due to King Salman’s November call for the istisqa prayer, a particular prayer for rain.
