Soldier martyred, two civilians killed in Khyber: ISPR

A soldier was martyred while responding to a terrorist attack on the vehicles of a private company working on a development project in the general area Darazinda, Dera Ismail Khan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said. Two civilian employees were also killed.

The martyred soldier was identified as Sepoy Syed Muhammad Shaheen Shah, 33, a resident of the Hangu district. He was employed on the security of the project, the military’s media wing said.

The deceased civilian employees of the company were identified as Muhammad Faisal, 35, and Asif Kamran, 29, residents of the Karak district.

Sanitisation operation was being carried out to eliminate the terrorists present in the area, the ISPR added.

Meanwhile, a terrorist, who was said to be “actively involved” in numerous terrorist activities, was killed in an intelligence based operation conducted in the general area of Bara, Khyber district.

The terrorist was identified as Qudrat Shah alias Abubakar. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the site.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and would continue to support the economic progress of the area,” the ISPR said.

Earlier in the day, two soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Sepoy Abdullah, 25, a resident of KP’s Mardan, and Sepoy Muhammad Sohail, 19, a resident of Tharparkar in Sindh.

In a statement, the ISPR said that one terrorist was killed in the gun battle.
