Karak: Authorities ban on carrying gas in plastic bags

The administration says that plastic bags have taken the form of walking bombs

The deputy commissioner in Karak, area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has banned the carrying of gas in plastic bags within the district limits.

Gas is stored in balloons in Banda Dawoodshah and other areas, children fill natural gas in plastic bags and take it home.

The administration says that plastic bags have taken the form of walking bombs, in case of violation of the order, arrest will be made and action will be taken.

Under the weight of a collapsing economy, the Pakistani government has failed to provide its people with basic necessities, forcing individuals to rely on plastic bags to meet their cooking gas demands.

Karak invents deadly kitchen jugard by scavenging for gas

As shocking as it may sound, locals in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region are storing LPG in plastic bags since a shortage of cooking gas cylinders has prompted dealers to restrict supply.

As per earlier reports, people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak area have been without gas connections since 2007, while Hangu City has been without gas for the past two years.

In social media videos, people can be seen storing gas in plastic bags.
