Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has said that there has been “an upgrade” in his outfit’s operations along its front with Israel, Al Jazeera reported.

“There has been a quantitative improvement in the number of operations, the size and the number of targets, as well as an increase in the type of weapons,” he was quoted as saying in a televised address.

He claimed that his organisation has used a missile known as the Burkan and added that the group launched weaponised drones for the “first time”.

Nasrallah said the northern Israeli town of Kiryat Shmona was targeted for the first time in retaliation for the killing of three girls and their grandmother earlier this month.

“This front will remain active,” he said.

In his first speech on November 3, Nasrallah defended his group’s “limited” engagement along the border.

Israel can get back captives held in Gaza through negotiations, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said on Friday in his first public comments since the Palestinian group Hamas and Israel went to war.

“I start by offering my deepest condolences to the families of the fallen here in Lebanon, and at the same, we congratulate you as your loved ones have won the honour of martyrdom.”

The Hezbollah chief offered condolences and congratulations to the families of those killed in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

He described the ‘Al-Aqsa Flood operation’ as an earthquake in Israel while saying that it had strategic and existential repercussions.

“The great Al-Aqsa Flood operation was decided and implemented 100 percent Palestinian. Absolute secrecy is what ensured the success of the Al-Aqsa Flood operation on October 7,” Nasrallah said, “we were not bothered by Hamas’s concealment of the October 7 attack plan.”
