Another Congo fever patient dies in Karachi

Hospitals were sprayed after the rapid rise in tick-borne disease

Another patient belonging to Quetta who was diagnosed positive with Congo Virus died in Karachi, the total number of deaths from a tick-borne reached three.

A 35-year-old patient was shifted from Quetta to Karachi in critical condition; he was being treated in a special ward at the Sindh Institute of Infection Disease.

According to the doctors, he was shifted to a ventilator but he could not live.

Cases tally crosses 60 in Quetta

Two more people were diagnosed in Quetta as the tally reached 62 in the province.

Jahangir,30, of Jinnah Town, and 27-year-old Shumail a resident of Kansi Road were shifted to Fatima Jinnah Institute of Chest Disease when their platelets dropped from normal.

Both were being treated after being diagnosed as Congo-positive.

The administration of hospitals in Quetta directed people to wear masks and gloves before entering the hospitals.

On the other hand, the hospitals were sprayed after the rapid rise in tick-borne disease.

Earlier a day, Mir Waiz, 30, was a resident of Quetta and was being treated in the private hospital of Karachi. He had been shifted from Balochistan to Karachi after testing positive for Congo virus.

A tick-borne viral disease which leads a healthy person to death is spreading in Balochistan rapidly. It has also claimed the lives of doctors, and health workers.
