Illegal immigrants repatriation process continues

The return of foreigners residing illegally in Pakistan continues as more than two lac seven thousand have returned to Afghanistan on Thursday.

Additional IG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rand says that the expulsion of illegal immigrants has reduced the crime rate in Karachi.

On November 8, 4 thousand 119 illegal Afghans went to their country, 702 families were repatriated in 251 vehicles. A total of 207,758 illegal Afghans have been repatriated so far.

Like other cities of the country, the administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are also continuing operations against illegally staying foreigners.

There are still 182 people in the holding camp established at Haji Camp in Karachi. Official figures on illegal Afghans sent to the Chaman border were also released. Five hundred and forty-four people have been deported so far.

According to the district administration in Karachi, seventy men, thirty-three women and eighty-nine children are included in the holding camp established in Haji Camp.
