Nawaz mentally prepared for coalition, journalist claims
Veteran journalist Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami has predicted that the next general election is likely to result in a coalition government as no party will be probably be able to win a decisive property.
Speaking in a program with Shahzad Iqbal on Geo News on Sunday, Shami added that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz is still likely to be a big player inthe coalition as the party has received a boost after the return of Nawaz Sharif.
Shami added that Nawaz is ‘mentally prepared’ to form a coalition government as he knows that the party will not be allowed to gain a majority on its own.
He also said that Nawaz has put himself into a position where it can ally itself with any party, except of course the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, with whom his distances still exist.
Shami’s comments come a day after sources inside PMLN said that Nawaz would soon establish contact with other political party to build a consensus on strengthening democracy and improving the economy.
The sources had added that party leaders had advised Nawaz to reach out to the PTI as well.
