The security forces killed two terrorists in two separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while three soldiers were martyred on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relation said.

In a statement, the military’s media wing said that an intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Rori area of Dera Ismail Khan district in which a terrorist was killed while two terrorists were injured.

“The killed terrorist was identified as Usama, a suicide bomber of the outlawed TTP, who was planning to carry out a high-profile attack in the area.”

In another operation conducted in the Lakki Marwat district, another terrorist was killed and several terrorist hides were busted.

At least two soldiers were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Naik Zafar Iqbal, 37, a resident of Gujranwala district and Sepoy Haji Jan, 30, a resident of Gilgit Baltistan’s Ghizer district.

In another instance, an improvised explosive device exploded in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district in which Havildar Shahid Iqbal, 39, a resident of Mirpurkhas district, was martyred.

“Sanitisation operations are being carried out to eliminate any terrorists present in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR stated.
