PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that PTI not all political parties get a level playing field and hence we welcomed PTI to the club as if it will face hardships ahead of the general elections.

“On principle, all parties should be given level-playing field. As for PTI, its foundation was such politics in which they were given a level playing field while others were deprived of it. You all have seen the 2018 elections,” he told journalists in Karachi on Friday.

The PPP chief said that despite not getting a level playing field, the PPP formed governments in 1988 and 2007.

“Show me one election where the PPP has been given a level playing field. Why would we expect that a level-playing field will be provided in the upcoming polls,” he added.

On the announcement of the election date, Zardari called it a huge victory that the Election Commission had announced February 8 as the election date. However, he said that it would have been better if the Supreme Court had not intervened, and ECP had done it itself.

Responding to a question regarding the Palestine issue, he said that people around the world are raising voices for the people of Gaza despite their governments’ silence on the matter.

“It is the first time that we are witnessing genocide through social media. Those global leaders who would lecture me on human rights should realize how Gazans have been murdered brutally,” he added.

Zardari ruled out an alliance with the PTI against the PML-N in Punjab, saying that the party has not decided anything on the matter.

He said that all political parties should be part of the Charter of Democracy including the PTI.
