At least two killed after Afghan refugee truck overturned in Attock
At least two were killed including a woman and several were injured when a heavy truck en-route to Afghanistan overturned on G.T Road in Punjab.
The vehicle was traveling to Afghanistan carrying several families along with their belongings when it overturned near the Hattian area of Attock in Punjab on Sunday.
More than a dozen were injured in the accident and were moved to the hospital along with the bodies.
On October 3, Interim Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that illegal foreign nationals residing in Pakistan have until November 1, 2023, to leave the country as part of the government’s crackdown on illegal immigrants.
During a meeting of the apex committee meeting, it was decided that the immigrants would have time to sell their assets and return to their country of origin. In case they fail to comply, they would be expelled and their properties confiscated.

According to government data, out of 1.7 million Afghan refugees 52,000 have returned to their country.
