IPP’s Aleem Khan vows to provide Rs50,000 of minimum salary
Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP) President Aleem Khan has vowed to provide petrol at half of the current price of Rs283.38/litre and set the minimum salary at Rs50,000.
“Free electricity will be provided on tubewells providing water to farmers having 12 and a half acres of land,” he said while addressing party supporters at the Jahanian Stadium in Khanewal on Saturday.
The IPP is a splinter faction of PTI loyalists who coalesced around Jahangir Tareen in the wake of the May 9 violence. In the recent past, three former PTI women leaders and Farrukh Habib joined the party with an announcement to continue “working for the people”.
The JKT-led party was launched on June 8, 2023. Almost all their leaders were part of the PTI when it announced its manifesto, which included providing 10 million jobs in five years.
Aleem said that all the promises made by Tareen would be fulfilled. He slammed the PTI chairman for “wasting” Tareen, who is now the patron-in-chief of the IPP.
“A free dispensary will be established at every union council as part of our relief [programme]. Women and senior citizens will be provided free treatment. Medicines will also be free there,” he said and added that filtration plants would be installed for clean drinking water.
For the unemployed, Aleem said that they would provide interest-free loans in order to make them self-sufficient and earn a livelihood.
Moreover, he added that those who don’t have their houses would be given three marla plots in cities on the government land. “People living in unsettled areas will get ownership of their homes and will be shifted to new apartments,” Aleem said and expressed hope that they would bring a system where the government would be seen “standing” with the poor people.
“Pakistan will have prosperity if farmer will be happy,” he said and before signing out asked the people at rally whether they would vote those who have served so many times and “did not” serve the people.
“We promise to you that we will not let you alone and free this country from thieves,” he said.
