Two soldiers martyred in South Waziristan IED blast: ISPR
Two soldiers were martyred when an improvised explosive device exploded in the general area of Sarwekai, the South Waziristan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.
In a statement, the military’s media wing the two soldiers were identified as Sepoy Banaras Khan, 23, a resident of the Orakzai district and Sepoy Abdul Karim, 23, a resident of the Khyber district.
“Sanitisation operation is being carried out to eliminate the terrorists present in the area as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement said.
In another incident, one terrorist was killed while two others were injured and apprehended by security forces in an intelligence based operation in the general area of Tirah, the Khyber district in KP.
“Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from these terrorists, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and target killing of innocent civilians in the area,” it said.
