The law and justice ministry recommended on Tuesday the provision of a Supreme Court judge’s perks and privileges to National Accountability of Bureau Prosecutor General Syed Ihtesham Qadir Shah.

The ministry suggested the provision of all privileges other than the privileges allowed to the SC judges post-retirement.

It added that the concurrence of the Finance Division was required in the matter while requesting the division to accord its concurrence on the recommendation and submit the matter to the federal cabinet for its approval.

The ministry also recommended perks and privileges of a high court judge to Sohail Nasir, the NAB deputy chairman.

Nasir was appointed as deputy chairman of NAB with the approval of the cabinet on October 10.

Later, the national-graft buster in summary proposed that Nasir may be allowed a salary package, perquisites, and fringe benefits as admissible to a judge of the high court. The law ministry recommended that he may be allowed pay, perks, and privileges as admissible to the judge of high court.
