Singer Atif Aslam donates Rs15 million to Palestinian relief fund
Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has announced a donation of Rs15 million to assist the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing turmoil in the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, announced the contribution in a post on X and extended their gratitude to Aslam for his donation.
The singer’s donation of Rs15 million rupees will be utilised for providing essential food and medical aid to Palestinians in Gaza.
The bombing campaign by the Israeli air force has killed more than 4,600 people in Gaza, mainly civilians, according to Palestinian officials, and cut off supplies of water, electricity, fuel, and food. The air strikes began soon after Hamas launched a multi-pronged assault in Israel on October 7, killing at least 1,400 people and taking more than 200 hostages.
Earlier, Aslam took to his Instagram story to share his sentiments, stating that the harrowing images emanating from Gaza had saddened him.
“I am sorry, I am not there, and I cannot do what you are feeling, but you are all in my prayers,” he said.
The singer has garnered further support for the Palestinian cause, and his actions have encouraged people to contribute to the humanitarian effort. Meanwhile, the Indian fans were furious over Aslam’s support for the Palestinians and began un-following him on Instagram.
