Caretaker Prime Minister’s Telephone Call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the ongoing Palestine Situation.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar called Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday to discuss the latest situation resulting from the Israeli airstrikes in Gaza and the West Bank.

The development comes as Hamas released two American hostages, from around 200 captives abducted in attacks by the militant group in Israel on October 7.

At least 4,137 Palestinians have been killed and 13,000 wounded in Gaza in Israeli strikes since Oct 7, according to the Palestinian health ministry.

“The prime minister expressed Pakistan’s strong condemnation of the incessant and lethal bombardment by Israeli occupation forces, particularly the bombing of Al-Ahli hospital,” the statement from the PID said.

He termed such attacks as “deplorable and willful acts” of Israeli aggression against Palestinians that caused loss of more than 3,000 precious lives and left over 12000 injured.

Both leaders emphasised the need for the international community to urge Israel to immediately halt the “bloodshed”. They also agreed on the necessity of lifting the blockade on Gaza to facilitate delivery of vital humanitarian aid and medical assistance to the affected people.

Pakistan dispatched its first batch of humanitarian assistance for Palestinian people that landed in Egypt on Thursday.

The PM stressed that the international community, particularly the United Nations, needed to take resolute measures to resolve this crisis and uphold established principles of justice, humanity and international law.

Interim PM Kakar also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to a just and lasting resolution of the Palestinian conflict, based on the “two-state” solution, leading to the establishment of a sovereign and viable Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the borders that existed prior to 1967.

President Mahmoud Abbas thanked Pakistan for longstanding and sustained support to the Palestinian people in their struggle for freedom from Israeli occupation.

Kakar in his address to the students of Xinjiang University in Urumqi on Friday raised his voice to speak for the voiceless people of Gaza under Israel’s aggression.

“While concluding my address to the students of Xinjiang University in Urumqi today, I raised my voice to speak for the voiceless people of Gaza under Israel’s ruthless aggression,” he said.

He also shared a video clip of his address on X where he said: “In an environment where the situation in the Middle East particularly with reference to Gaza has saddened millions of peace-loving people across the globe coming from diversified ethnic groups and from diversified religious groups”.

The prime minister vowed to play the role to stop this barbaric act against the Palestinian civilians.

Moreover, Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday called for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders.

“We call for establishing conditions that lead to the return of stability and to the achievement of a lasting peace that ensures reaching a just solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, and helps attain security and prosperity for all,” he said while addressing the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Riyadh Summit.

The Saudi crown prince affirmed the kingdom’s categorical rejection of the targeting of civilians, and underlined the importance of adhering to international humanitarian law and the need to stop military operations against civilians and infrastructure that directly affects their lives.
