Mardan declared as load-shedding free area

The officials of the power division have declared Mardan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as load shedding-free after a noticeable end in electricity theft.

Federal Secretary for Power Division Rashid Mehmood said that they decided to shut the suspension of the power supply in the areas where electricity stealing ended.

He declared Mardan load shedding free area on his visit to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and also termed stealing of energy as “prohibited” in all sects and religions.

He added that not a single religion in the world considers stealing as an acceptable practice.

Vowing to counter such corrupt practices he said the facilitators will be accountable and they will not be apologized at any cost or any recommendation.

The energy loss recovered by 31% and reached 12% from 43 %, he said, as the division terminated those employees who were facilitating people in stealing the energy.

He added during the campaign they installed 1,000 electricity meters across the country and the graph of stealing shrank by Rs5 billion.
