Major BLA commander killed in intelligence-based operation

An intelligence-based operation by security forces killed a Saddam Hussain, a highly-wanted terrorist belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army.

The operation also killed one of Hussain’s accomplices, Maqsood, and a large cache of weapons and ammunition were also recovered.

Saddam Hussain, who was also known by the names ‘Guru’ and ’Jabbar, was involved in 93 terror activities including target killings, land mine attacks and hand grenade attacks.

The attacks Hussain was involved in resulted in 131 people being killed and 177 injured. He

Cases had been registered against Hussain in multiple police stations in Gwadar and Turbat. He was also involved in the attack on Frontier Constabulary headquarters in September 2023.

Hussain joined the Balochistan Liberation Front in 2008 and received his initial training in Mashkay. In 2014, he joined the BLA and was made the commander of the training camp in Kech in 2017 and a local commander in 2021.

Security forces consider Hussain’s death to be a major blow for the Abdul Majeed Brigade of the BLA and believe it will cause a noticeable decrease in terror attacks in the province.
