Six workers killed by unknown gunmen in Balochistan’s Turbat

The attackers broke into the house of Naseer Ahmed, a contractor, and opened fire

At least six labourers were gunned down by unknown armed men in Turbat city of Kech district late Friday night.

According to the police, unknown attackers broke into the house of Naseer Ahmed, a contractor, and opened fire that killed six people and injured two. The victims were labourers who were sleeping in the house, the police said.

Two workers were seriously injured in the incident, while the police moved the injured and the bodies to the hospital.

The dead were identified as Rizwan son of Allah Dad, Shehbaz son of Mumtaz, Waseem son of Mumtaz, Shafiq Ahmad, Muhammad Naeem, and Sikandar.

Among the injured are Ghulam Mustafa son of Nazir Ahmad from Multan and Tawheed son of Jawar Khan from Narowal Punjab.

The victims were working with the contractor in connection with the construction works and were targeted.

The police have started the necessary action and investigation in the case.

The caretaker chief minister of Balochistan condemned the killing of workers and suspended Superintendent of Police (SP) Turbat.

He also called for an inquiry report from the authorities, saying that the incident is condemnable and that he is deeply saddened by the killing of innocent workers.

Chief Minister Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki has also directed to investigate all aspects of the incident and submit an immediate report using all resources to make the arrest in this case.
