Former Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi said that he had no contact with Imran Khan despite both being incarcerated in Adiala Jail.

Elahi made the remarks in response to a reporter’s questions as he was brought to an local court in Islamabad in the Judicial Complex Attack case.

Asked if he had been consulted by Imran Khan over party tickets, Elahi clarified that it was not possible to talk to Imran Khan in jail.

He also confirmed that he was still standing behind Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and was in jail because he refused to leave the party.

Elahi also told reporters to highlight that he was ill after getting food poisoning from eating jail food. He added that home cooked food was still not being brought to him despite court orders.

He also confirmed that the wall of Imran Khan’s jail cell had been broken to give him more space after court orders.

Elahi is wanted in multiple cases, including corruption, in both Lahore and Islamabad and has been in custody for months. He has been rearrested upon release several times as well.
