Karachi police arrest five jailbirds in three encounters
Karachi police have arrested five suspects in 12 hours in connection to robberies and street crime. The accused were jailbirds and they had been released on bail.
The police said that suspects were arrested in three separate encounters of which two took place in the jurisdiction of Sharae Faisal police station and one in Super Highway police station.
According to details shared by police, suspects were found involved in hundreds of robberies, while they were arrested many times. A car, they had stolen from the premises of Firozabad police station, motorcycles, weapons and cash have been recovered from the accused.
On September 22, the inspector general of Sindh Police Raja Riffat Mukhtar briefed the apex committee meeting chaired by interim chief minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir that at least 61,098 cases of street crime have been reported current year in Karachi which were less than 85,502 of the corresponding year 2022.
