Branches of all banks would observe extended working hours till 5:00pm on Saturday to facilitate collection of taxes through ADC’s Over-the-Counter facility, said the State Bank of Pakistan on Thursday.

The decision has been taken on the request of the Federal Board of Revenue to facilitate the taxpayers in payment of government duties/taxes, the central bank said in a statement.

In order to ensure the same-day clearing/settlement of payment instruments, NIFT shall arrange special clearing at 5:00pm on Saturday.

“Accordingly, all banks are advised to keep their concerned branches open till such time that is necessary to facilitate the special clearing by NIFT on September 30,” said the statement.
