The Karachi police on Saturday arrested the husband of the woman suspected of kidnapping an 11-year-old girl from Orangi Town in Karachi. A first information report was filed at the Orangi Town police station.

While the police failed to recover the girl, identified as Tayyaba, four days after her kidnapping, they alleged that the woman Rubina had sold her in Punjab.

During the investigation, Fayyaz, husband of the alleged kidnapper, said that Rubina took the girl to Multan. The suspects are reported to have been tenants at the house of the girl’s family.

The Karachi police approached the Muzaffargarh police to assist in locating and arresting the woman, however, they have denied the presence of the accused in the city.

It is pertinent to mention that around 1,599 children have been reported missing during the eight months of 2022.
