Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi and Ansha Shahid, daughter of former cricket star Shahid Afridi, celebrated their mehndi ceremony on Monday after tying the knot in February this year.

Many videos from the mehndi ceremony have gone viral on social media. One of the clips shows Shaheen, 23, and other guests at the table.

In the same video, Shahid and Shaheen were also seen having a conversation.

Ansha had chosen Furqan Saloon for her makeup. The saloon also shared a short video on Instagram. The video does not show her face but shows her dupatta.

The mehndi ceremony was held at Shahid Afridi’s house with only relatives and close friends in attendance.

Shaheen and Ansha tied the knot in a daytime nikkah in Karachi on February 03, 2021. The reception was held for the couple at the DHA Golf and Country Club after their nikkah. A lot of Shaheen’s teammates from the national cricket team attended the ceremony.

The Walima reception is scheduled to take place on September 21 in Islamabad. Shaheen would then leave for India to play in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which will start on October 5.

Green Shirts would play their first match in the tournament against the Netherlands on October 6 at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

“Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing. A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart. As a parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to Shaheen Afridi, congratulations to the two of them,” Shahid had said in an Instagram post in February after announcing the marriage of his daughter to the fast bowler.
