PPP will decide on political alliance after election date: Bilawal

‘If reservations of level playing field are not addressed then my hands will not remain tied, says PPP chairman
PPP cannot stand on any page other than the constitution: Bilawal Bhutto - Aaj News

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has said that his party would consider a political alliance after the announcement of the election date.

“After the election date I will be able to tell what kind of alliance the PPP is making or not making,” he said in response to a query addressing a press conference in Okara on Monday. “At the moment in the CEC meeting of the party, we demanded an election date and schedule.”

Elections are due in Pakistan this year, but many experts believe they would be delayed until next year after the previous government notified the results of the Council of Common Interests.

He reiterated the party’s request to the ECP to give an election date and schedule so that the country can come out of such issues.

When asked, he said the PPP’s demand for the return of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to the country was an old one. “The PPP can never be pushed to the wall.”

Bilawal said: “As far as the reservations of a level playing field, we empowered [former] president Zardari to address them. If they are not addressed then my hands will not remain tied.”

The PPP chairman expressed his well wishes for newly sworn-in Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa, saying that he hoped that the judge would improve the Supreme Court’s affairs.

“We have good wishes for Justice Isa and we hope that this institution will improve. We will only suggest to Justice Isa that like we had left a legacy of CoD, similarly he can leave a legacy. The judiciary has to restore its credibility,” he said.
