The Rabiul Awwal moon was not sighted anywhere across the country, therefore, the month of Rabiul Awwal will commence on Monday, September 18, the Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee said on Saturday.

Eid-i-Miladun Nabi would fall on September 29, Friday, Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Chairman Abdul Khabeer Azad said after the meeting convened for moon-sighting in Islamabad.

Muslims around the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), known in Arabic as the Mawlid al-Nabawi holiday, on 12th of Rabiul Awwal — the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar.

Members of both the central and zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees including Mufti Zameer Ahmed Sajid, Mufti Muhammad Iqbal Naemi, Mufti Abdul Salam Jalali, Allama Mustafa Haider Naqvi, and others attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, technical assistance was also provided by Pakistan Meteorological Department chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission’s Ghulam Murtaza, and Zainul Abidin from the Ministry of Science and Technology.
