United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Thomas West siad that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is now a threat to Pakistan’s territorial integrity.

Speaking at a think tank in Washington, West said that there had been a noticeable increase in terrorist attacks in Pakistan by the TTP in recent months which could impose a serious threat to Pakistan’s territory.

He said that the TTP had allied itself with the Afghan Taliban during NATO’s war in Afghanistan and the two movements still have deep links.

West has been working as the US representative for Afghanistan since 2021, when the previous reprsentative Zalmay Khalilzad stepped down two months after the fall of Kabul.
