For former Indian skipper Virat Kohli, breaking records seems to be a habit, which he continued in the Asia Cup match against Pakistan on Monday at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday.

He became the quickest batter to score 13,000 ODI runs, according to the International Cricket Council. He reached this feat in 267 innings, beating cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar who reached the milestone in 321 innings.

Kohli went from 50 off 55 balls to an unbeaten 122 in 94 balls, smashing 72 runs off his last 39 balls at a ground where he loves to play–at least record book says.

He has an average of 128.20 at the venue in ODIs. With this knock, the number three batsman batter has four successive hundreds at the venue in 50-over format of the game.

The 128.20 is the most any batter averages after nine or more innings at a single venue in ODI history.

Kohli averages 53.4 in T20Is here. He hasn’t yet played a Test match here.

He was also involved in a record 233-run stand (unbeaten) with KL Rahul, the highest for India against Pakistan in ODIs, beating the 231-run partnership between Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sachin Tendulkar in Sharjah in 1996.

It merits here to mention that his 183 against Pakistan in the 2012 edition of the tournament is still the highest individual score in the Asia Cup.
