Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will be leaving India on Monday night at around 8:00pm. Pakistan’s Information Minister Murtaza Solangi has said that the crown prince may visit Pakistan ‘at any moment’.’
MBS stayed in India for a bilateral visit on Monday after other world leaders left at the end of the G20 summit on Sunday.
A scheduled released by the Indian authorities said that the Crown Prince was to meet President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhawan at around 6:30 pm and he was to depart the country at around 8:30 pm.
Information Minister Murtaza Solangi told reporters from the Press Association of Supreme Court on Monday that the crown prince could visit at ‘any moment’.
Speculation has been going on for weeks in Pakistan that the crown prince could visit Pakistan. Some had even claimed that MBS could stop in Pakistan for a few hours on the way to the G20 conference in India.
Pakistan’s interim Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani had recently said that it was the wish of the crown prince to visit Pakistan although a final date has not been fixed. He had added that whenever, the prince did arrive, he would be given a royal welcome.
Jilani had added that dozens of projects had been finalised in Pakistan and MBS would put his signature on them when he arrived. He had also added that interest in investing in Pakistan had increased since the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, particularly from the middle east and Saudi Arabia.
MBS recently became part of a new initiative to create an ‘India-middle east’ corridor to foster trade and economic linkages.
