Pakistan’s pace attack has made a new record in the Asia Cup and against arch-rivals India, making it an unforgettable moment for many fans.

“First time in Asia Cup (ODI) history that all 10 wickets have been taken by pacers,” said the Pakistan Cricket Board in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday.

Though rain washed out the high-voltage contest between Pakistan and India in the Asia Cup 2023 played at the Pallakele Stadium in Sri Lanka on Saturday, the Green Shirts pacers were on attack from the first ball.

Shaheen was the first to get a wicket. He bowled Indian skipper Rohit Sharma on an in-swing delivery. The right-arm fast bowler also got the scalp of Virat Kohli, who was disappointed by trying to play an outswing delivery.

Shaheen got four wickets, followed by three each by Naseem and Rauf. “They cannot play him” was among the top trends on social media for a time on X, formerly known as Twitter, when India was bowled out for 266.

“They Cannot Play Him (Them) The best pace battery in the world right now, well done boys,” said former fast bowler Wahab Riaz.
