A jeep ran aground at Karachi’s Seaview Beach on Friday after it was driven straight into the sea, despite lifeguards attempting to stop the driver.

A family from Nazimabad came for a picnic and drove their jeep close to the waves. Reportedly, lifeguards tried to stop them but the driver moved ahead.

After the vehicle ran aground a panic ensued among the occupants, who included women.

They were rescued safely by the lifeguards but the vehicle remained in the waves, running into the ground as time passed.

The jeep owners hired a tractor to salvage it from the water. A video of the rescue operation went viral.
