The cause of death of a British girl born to a Pakistani father, Sarah Sharif, has not yet been determined. However, a British court has been told that the ten-year-old girl did not die a natural death, reported BBC.

Sarah’s body was found alone at home in Woking on August 10, a day before her father, stepmother and other family members flew to Pakistan.

The precise cause of death was “not yet ascertained” but was likely to be “unnatural”, an inquest into her death at Surrey Coroner’s Court heard.

Detectives launch an international inquiry following the discovery of Sara’s body.

The court adjourned the hearing for six months while the investigation was underway.

Simon Wickens, a coroner of Surrey County said that he would not adjourn the hearing for such a long time, but he was doing this due to the complexity of investigation and international matter.

He confirmed that Sarah was born in Slough in January 2013 and her death was verified in the early hours of August 10, she was identified by comparing his DNA with her Polish mother Ogla Sharif.

The court has been informed that pathologist Nathaniel Carey, who has done a post-mortem examination of Sara was unable to ascertain an actual cause of Sara’s death, but said it was likely to be ‘unnatural’.

Sara’s father Ufran Malik, stepmother Beinash, and her father’s brother Faisal Malik have been hiding in Pakistan after they fled the UK.

Urfan was seen in his native district of Jhelum after he arrived in the country but then he disappeared with the rest of the family members, Beinash, Faisal Malik and five children.

Pakistani police told the BBC that they had carried out an extended investigation into two more areas around Jhelum, having received new information from multiple sources.

UK’s police claimed Mr Sharif made a 999 call from Pakistan leading them to Sara’s body, Shortly after landing in Islamabad.

A court in Pakistan said last week that Sharif’s relatives in the country could not be detained for questioning about his location.

However, Sharif’s family claimed that the police had illegally detained two of his brothers who live in Pakistan.
