Neeraj Chopra’s mother has also appreciated his son’s Pakistani opponent Arshad Nadeem in the mega event on his performance.

Chopra secured gold in the World Athletics Championship by throwing javelin 88.17 metres. Nadeem bagged silver medal by throwing javelin 87.82 metres.

When journalists asked her feelings after her son’s victory over Nadeem, she replied: “I am also happy for Nadeem as he reached the final.”

She added that winning or losing was part of the game. “Whether the winner is from Pakistan or Haryana [India], it does not matter. I am happy and I am also happy for who won from Pakistan.”
