Commercial banks in KP’s Tank closed for three days over security concerns
The management of commercial banks in Tank City of Waziristan has decided to suspend their services from August 25 to August 27 amid the deteriorating security situation in the city.
Almost all banks issued notifications regarding the closure of the operations including ATM machines. According to the notifications, the branches’ services were transferred to those in Dera Ismail Khan on a temporary basis.

The local administration confirmed the development, saying that the banks had concerns regarding the safety of its staff which will be resolved as soon as possible.
The closure of the bank branches came after a security guard and policeman were killed on August 23 after unidentified men opened fire on them outside a private bank in the city.
The banks that announced the closure of branches included National Bank of Pakistan and Habib Bank Limited, among others.
