People burn utility bills in Azad Kashmir in protest
The people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir burnt utility bills in a protest against soaring inflation.
The protest against inflation erupted in district Kotli of AJK where people who were already frustrated with inflation burnt the utility bill worth more than Rs60 million and also made the announcement in the mosque saying no one will pay their bills.
Amid soaring inflation, the residents across the AJK announced twenty days sit-in against the additional taxes imposed via utility bills.
The prime minister of AJK Chaudhary Anwarul Haq on Tuesday stopped the implementation of increased utility bills in fear of civil disobedience moment and formed a committee which will submit its recommendations to the cabinet within 15 days.
