Lahore High Court ordered that petitions pertaining to the release of chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan’s nephew Hassaan Niazi and his friend Haider Majeed be consolidated on Tuesday.

Haider’s father Muhammad Majeed had filed a petition on August 19, requesting that respondents be directed to “immediately produce” his son and release him. The case was heard by Justice Tanveer Sultan.

LHC heard two separate petitions filed by Haidar’s father Muhammad Majeed and Hassaan father’s Hafeezullah Niazi for the release of their sons.

The court ordered to merge both petitions and gave time to the petitioners for submitting their reply to the report presented by Additional Advocate General Ghulam Sarwar Nihang in a previous hearing held on August 18.

The report stated that Haider has been handed over to the military court for further investigation and trial and the concerned authority was probing him.

The court adjourned hearing in the case until August 25.
