Former chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Najam Sethi has criticised the continuous rescheduling of matches of the World Cup set to commence from October 5 in India.

Several matches were rescheduled as Indian authorities cited many reasons including security and logistics issues.

“@BCCI should have taken my advice re @TheRealPCB playing their WC games in a neutral country :) They are now in a mess with schedule tweaks being proposed every few days!,” Sethi wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

His post came after ESPNcricinfo reported that the Hyderabad Cricket Association raised a concern about hosting back-to-back matches on October 9 and 10.

The HCA alerted the Board of Control for Cricket in India that the Hyderabad Police was concerned about providing proper security for two matches including New Zealand versus Netherlands on October 9 and Pakistan versus Sri Lanka on October 10, it stated.

The green team’s game against Sri Lanka had once been rescheduled as Pakistan was originally set to take on Sri Lanka on October 12 along with eight other matches which were altered.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan’s game against the Indian team was rescheduled to October 14 originally planned on October 15 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
