Hassaan Niazi handed over to military court for trial, court told
PTI leader Hassaan Khan Niazi had been handed over to the military court for investigation and trial, said a report submitted to the Lahore High Court on Friday.
The report was submitted by Additional Advocate General Sarwar Nihang to the court.
The report was submitted by Additional Advocate General Sarwar Nihang to the court. It alleged that Hassaan, the nephew of PTI chief Imran Khan, was the main accused of the Jinnah House (Lahore Corps Commanders House) vandalism case.
“He was arrested from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and after completing the legal process the police declared him most wanted,” said the report. It added that at the request of the commanding officer Hassaan was handed over to the military court.
The court during the proceedings gave time to the prosecutor to find out possibilities of Hassaan meeting his father Hafeezullah Niazi.
LHC Judge Raheel Kamran Sheikh heard the petition filed by Hassaan’s father pertaining to releasing his son.
While giving time to the prosecutor, the judge remarked that ask authority about the possibility of meeting father and son.
At the request of the petitioner’s counsel, the court adjourned the hearing until 2:00pm.
