An alleged audio tape linked to one of the senior leaders of the PTI was leaked on Monday which claimed that the events of May 9 were “pre-planned”.

“I want to play audio, which has been leaked on a Twitter account indibell where Samsam Bukhari is speaking about the May 9 events,” Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Interior and Legal Affairs Attaullah Tarar said at a press conference in Islamabad on Monday.

Protests broke out after Imran Khan was arrested by paramilitary forces from the premises of the Islamabad High Court on May 9 in 190 million pounds case. Protesters attacked state buildings, including Radio Pakistan and Jinnah House (Corps Commanders House) in Lahore.

Days after the protests, several PTI leaders and supporters were arrested. Later, many leaders from its top tier left the party and some of them even condemned Khan’s apparent onslaught against army officials.

The PTI chief had accused the serving military officials of harassing his party members.

But last month a trial court gave a clean chit to PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a case related to May 9 events.

In the presser, Tarar described the alleged audio tape as proof of evidence of PTI chief Imran Khan and his party’s involvement in the riots.

He alleged that the top leadership of PTI were directed by Khan to attack military installations.
